Harnett County Schools recognizes that literacy success is crucial, and the primary grades are pivotal years in the life of a child. Join as representatives share this district's recommended plan to support early literacy achievement in grades K-2. Harnett County's plan for tiered instruction is implemented within a Balanced Literacy Program. Layered instruction and progress monitoring aligned to core instruction offer a system of support aimed at promoting successful literacy acquisition for all students. Growth experienced in grades K-2 will be outlined using data from first year district-wide implementation of Fountas and Pinnell's Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI).
