This session is a session of sharing best practices for teaching 5th grade science. It will involve the process of developing units collaboratively district wide which consist of built in labs and literacy pieces. The hands-on activities are essential to student success. The usage of Page Keely's assessment probes are built into the instruction as well. Enthusiasm and energy is a key in this classroom. Ms. Garrell brings to the table an array of activities but also allows her students to dare to "find out" the effects of science in our everyday living. You will see why every child chooses science as their favorite subject when they leave her classroom.
